Garland B. Denny, a Korean War Veteran, served his country in the US Navy from 9-27-48 to 9-20-52 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt.  He is currently a LIFE member of VFW Post 2423 in Indian Trail, North Carolina, The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 95 and he is also a member of the American Legion.

Garland has been a well known resident of the Charlotte area for over 41 years. He moved to Union County 5 years ago with his wife Margaret Anne whom he has been married to for over 52 years.
